First and foremost, an Aerospace Physiologist (AP) is about PREVENTION. The purpose of the AP is to counter all physiological threats facing today\u2019s \u00a0flight crews. While AMEs will address the flight crews\u2019 flight physical, <b>Delta P<\/b> addresses all of the other operational issues.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In order to do so, interfacing with the aerospace medicine community is crucial<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>for success.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This is done through various contracts as well as the multitude of colleagues and contacts <b>Delta P<\/b> has gained over the years.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>By maintaining these contacts, current operational aspects as well as research to watch for future applications are gained.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><strong>ICAO states:<\/strong><\/h6>\n<h6>\u2022 \u201cMember States promote and facilitate the integration of<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>human performance elements within competency-based\u00a0training programmes<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>throughout the career of a professional\u201d, and<\/h6>\n<h6>\u2022 \u201cMember States include strategies\u00a0which promote safe, consistent, efficient and effective operational performance of the individual and <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>across teams of individuals to <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>address safety priorities.\u201d<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><b>What Does This Mean For You?<\/b><\/h6>\n<h6><b>Delta P<\/b> becomes a force multiplier by focusing on HP in addition to health care as the primary means of supporting your unit. <b>Delta P<\/b> works to sustain the performance of your crew, whether in the face of high threat situations, environmental threats and stressors, or advancing age.
